• British Kart Industry Association members Silver Fox Karting will be the official trader for the 2017 South Wales IKR Championship. Silver Fox will have a range of karting consumables and general parts available for sale in a dedicated area at the majority of IKR rounds. On the occasions that they cannot be present there will be plenty of notice given should you want to order anything for the weekend in advance. Please note that any tyre orders through Silver Fox need to be made in advance as tyres may not be stocked on the day and that the majority of spares in stock will be generic that any class can use so if you go asking for a bespoke sidepod bar for your 1999 Venom Sidewinder you may be out of luck.

• Silver Fox Karting will also be the Presenting Sponsor of the Junior TKM classes in both MSA and Non MSA and will provide the 2017 champions trophy and a prize for the 2017 champions in those classes.

• People wishing to sell second hand parts for specific classes of kart are still more than welcome to attend South Wales IKR meetings but will need to notify the circuit in advance. Where possible we will have a dedicated ‘KartBoot’ area at selected rounds where you can go searching for a bespoke sidepod bar for your 1999 Venom Sidewinder………

• We will be stamping tyres at the start of each day to ensure that the boots you start on are the same boots you finish on.

• Junior and Mini Max will have their own separate race away from the Seniors but they will race for one set of points and trophies and equalisation measures will be put in place to ensure parity.

• We are extremely grateful to Peter Stephens who has agreed to set out some advisory guidelines for Mini Max drivers as to how to adjust their carb settings to allow them to run on par with Juniors and then how to correctly reset their engines to traditional Mini Max settings for other events.

• Nigel has agreed to update his iPod so we have some different music at the start of the day. But please, no Little Mix.

• We want to have a ‘proper’ end of season Presentation Night to hand out the championship trophies but also just to have a good social event and get trollied. However we will only do this IF entry figures remain high and if enough of YOU guys want it to happen (and are willing to buy tickets!!!)

• We are on the lookout for a good commentator to replace the shocking drivel that you had to put up with in 2016. Sadly the voice behind the nonsense can’t be at every round in 2017 and we would really like to give someone a chance to break into the world of commentating. Let’s face it, you couldn’t do any worse….or could you?

• We will only call Captain Slow Captain Slow when he doesn’t take us all on holiday with him.

• We will strive to have more fun and be the most friendly and helpful karting paddock in the UK.
